Ingredients
Method
- (Optional) For a smooth dip, place the cottage cheese in a food processor and blend until silky. For a rustic texture, leave it as is in a mixing bowl.
- Add the minced garlic, chives, parsley, dill, lemon juice, and mustard.
- Stir (or pulse) until well combined.
- Season with black pepper. Taste and add salt only if necessary.
- Transfer to a serving bowl, drizzle with olive oil, and top with extra herbs.
- Chill for 30 minutes before serving for maximum flavor development.
Notes
Pro Tip for Storage: If the dip separates slightly after sitting in the fridge, simply give it a quick stir. The lemon juice and salt can sometimes draw moisture out of the herbs, but a quick whisk brings it back to its creamy glory.
Herb Substitutions: If you can't find fresh herbs, use a 1:3 ratio for dried (1 tsp dried = 1 tbsp fresh). However, for the best "Mediterranean" flavor, fresh chives and dill are highly recommended.
Make it Spicy: Add a pinch of crushed red pepper flakes or a teaspoon of Aleppo pepper for a subtle, smoky heat that complements the garlic.
