Ingredients
Method
Prep the Lettuce:
- Slice the stem off the lettuce head. Gently peel away 4–6 large, intact outer leaves. Wash in cold water and dry completely with paper towels.
Brown the Beef:
- Heat extra-virgin olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef, breaking it up with a spatula.
Season:
- Add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Sauté 6–8 minutes until fully cooked and browned. Drain excess grease if needed.
Melt the Cheese:
- Reduce heat to low. Gather beef into 4 equal patty-sized mounds in the skillet. Place a slice of cheese on each mound, cover pan with lid, and cook for 1 minute until melted.
Build the Base:
- Lay two large lettuce leaves overlapping on parchment paper or a plate. Spread optional mustard or Greek yogurt sauce in the center.
Assemble & Serve:
- Scoop cheesy beef onto lettuce. Layer thin cucumber slices, crinkle-cut pickles, and tomato rounds on top. Fold sides inward, wrap tightly, and serve immediately.
Notes
* Thoroughly drying the lettuce leaves prevents the wrap from slipping apart during assembly.
* Wrap the bottom of each assembled burger in a square of parchment paper for easier, mess-free handling.
