Ingredients
  

Beef Patties:
  • 1 lb lean beef
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup whole wheat breadcrumbs
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • garlic
  • onion
  • parsley
  • oregano
  • thyme
  • olive oil.
Gravy:
  • 8 oz mushrooms
  • 1 onion
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard

Method
 

  1. Mix patty ingredients gently and form 4 oval steaks.
  2. Sear in olive oil for 4 mins per side; remove.
  3. Sauté onions and mushrooms in the same pan.
  4. Stir in flour, then slowly whisk in broth, Worcestershire, and mustard.
  5. Return patties to gravy, cover, and simmer for 10 mins.

Notes

For the juiciest results, use a 90/10 lean beef blend. If the gravy thickens too much while simmering, whisk in an additional tablespoon of beef broth to reach your desired consistency.
